Multi-Dimensional Urban Spaces opening
Multi-Dimensional Urban Spaces opened on the 4th of September. I had a great time, and I'm incredibly grateful to everyone who came. Still, I went a bit quiet there, didn't I? Might have something to do with moving house and coming down with bronchitis since the opening night, I mean, maybe? Anyway, it was a good night, and a huge experience for me, opening my first solo show. I really want to thank Vinh and Stuart at ArtSHINE for organising it, and the people at The Alley Du

Robot-Breakdancing into the future!
Yeah, I didn't really have any good breakdancing jokes after 'Electric Boogaloo'. I did a few different sketches of this dancer, as the pose and angle would have gotten a bit distorted quite easily. I really liked the stripe on the t-shirt, so I thought it was a good element to keep. The hair is great too (and a reminder of when I, too, had it), so it made sense to incorporate that into it as well. I had to do a few colour variations to properly get him to work. I liked the b

Robotic B-Boy 3...Wait, don't I know you?
This dancer should look familiar to you, and if he doesn't, I've put a helpful reminder below. Yep, he's the poster boy for my upcoming solo exhibition, Multi-Dimensional Urban Spaces (click here to get your free tickets)! The show is going to be a bit of a retrospective, but the Dancers are new material that will be getting displayed for the first time at the show. In case you haven't already seen, the opening night will be Wednesday 4th September, 6.00pm till 8.00pm, at The

Robotic B-boys 2 - Electric Boogaloo
My wife loves an Electric Boogaloo joke, and it's highly unlikely that I'll ever have a more apt time to make one. Here's my second robotic B-boy dancer, busting moves in the neighbourhood of Enmore in Sydney. Like I said before, the photos I took around Enmore will keep popping up for these. Here's a closer look at the artwork of the dancer. It got a good response when I posted it on instagram, so I guess I did something right? #finishedart #hiphop #streetart #scifi #culture

Robotic B-boys
I thought I'd try combining a few interests I've already used in my art in a few different ways. This isn't the first time I've put my images with my photos, as you can see in my Portals series, but I thought I'd incorporate the Mechanical style I've used in the Mechanicals series and my typography project, and add a bit of hip-hop culture too. A well-timed photo of a b-boy dancing can be an amazing image. I found one which I thought was a really expressive pose, and appropri

Thinking about Culture
Hi, I'm back! Been away for a while, becoming a dad (life keeps offering distractions like that), but now I'm getting back to work. This was a bit of warm-up exercise, and it came from a course I'm doing as part of my day-job, where I'm getting certification for my Learning Support work. We were asked to make an image that reflected on our culture. It was just meant to be a quick A4 image, but, well... I needed to get my drawing muscles going, so this was what came out: Now,
